About
Dr. Yanina Blanchard
Since I was a little girl I’ve always been very perceptive, attuned to others and had this innate interest in getting to know people and to help them to feel better. I remember wanting to be a psychologist since I was in elementary school. There was no doubt in my mind about it. So when the time came to decide what to study in college it was clear to me. I completed my Bachelors degree in Psychology and my Masters degree in Research Psychology in Lima, Peru.
After practicing as a licensed psychologist in Lima for 5 years I moved to the United States to earn my second Masters degree and my Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at William James College in Newton, MA.
Throughout my career I have worked in diverse clinical settings such as community mental health centers, college counseling centers and completed my postdoctoral fellowship at the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center in Cambridge, MA. Currently, I’m a staff psychologist at Boston Behavioral Medicine where, aside from offering individual and group therapy, I supervise psychology interns, postdoctoral and social work fellows. I also teach the Eating Disorders and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy seminars.
When I’m not working I enjoy dancing and going to my zumba class, reading, taking long walks and spending time with my husband and my two kids and participating in community events.
